hedgehog

like most people, the time when my bank account hits an all time low is typically post-christmas. and although i can't necessarily buy anything for myself (sob) i can still look, right?
spotted on bryanboy, some bracelets that will hopefully be my first purchase of the new year.

living the dream

my new miss dior cherie perfume makes me want to wear poufy pink dresses and float in the air while holding hordes of balloons. and when i'm not doing that, i'll live here

and i'll be that tall leggy girl, but asian, and i won't mistreat the chairs the way she does.

curses!

after recently becoming a victim of hacker infiltration and dizzying myself with the amount of curse words and disbelief literally spewing out of my mouth, i eventually tried to redirect my attention to something more calming to ease my anger. and since its late and im confined to my teeny room, my only options were 1) pushups or 2)online shopping. and after deciding on the obvious choice, rather than asking myself "what the hell is wrong with people today," i wondered " do i like these jeffrey campbell shoes?" maybe it's just their weapon-ish quality that's appealing to me in my quiet rage.

cotton candy

what is it about a touch of pastel pink in a room that exudes fantastical romance and this sense that everything must smell like floral perfume?

i'm back home for the holidays, which consists of suburbs, many many starbucks, and shopping centers filled with discount retailers. now if my makeshift bedroom in my house looked like the one above, perhaps it wouldn't be so difficult to get me to visit.

christmas island

i am collectively a little nervous, anxious, and excited about heading home for the holidays. and although home is always number one, i would fight people to spend the break here

haute coco

so many chanel movies, so little time. if i were to cast a leading lady out of the three, i think i'd actually go with anna mouglalis, but the proof will be in the pudding. granted, double c covered, camellia laced, quilted leather chain bagged pudding, but pudding nonetheless.

i fare thee well

i'm a particularly pesky magazine customer. i'll grab armfuls of magazines based solely on the cover to furiously flip through, narrow it down to small stack, and then make my final decisions after considering the editorials, and the ad/content ratio. after which, i usually end up with one or two magazines out of the 12 i started with. there are the rare few that i confidently pick up and buy without the initial critique, one being amelia's magazine. not only is it rare to even find a copy still sitting in the shelves, but it's not consumed with advertisements, has decent editorials and good information. moreso than anything, the look and layout of the magazine sells me. it's youthful and fun, which i think is sometimes lost in the frigid world of fashion magazines. but now, i'll have to find a replacement for it because sadly, it's going out of commission. oh sure, they'll still be online, but there's nothing like the gratification of flipping through the glossy, colorful pages. amelia's magazine, i'll miss you.

now, i have to get my hands on that last issue.

i'll have another

i really like editorials where they smash together as many particularly well-known models as possible. when they throw designers into the mix, that's means for buying the magazine, but the large horde of models just makes me want to rip the pages out and run out of the bookstore. then probably tack it on my wall somewhere like teenagers usually do with pictures from BOP.

music box

whenever i listen to detektivbyran i get this urge to hop on my bike, pedal really fast, and then coast in squiggles down the road. but what i really want to do is put the band into a little music box and keep them prisoner until bedtime, when i would feed them cheese and wine and make them play tunes until i fell asleep. everyone wins!

bookcase porn

you've been a bad, bad bookcase.

where's the beef?

although my elementary/middle school/high school (and sometimes college) lunches typically consisted of french fries, undercooked chocolate chip cookies, and whatever i could pilfer off of my friend's lunches, i think i would have led a slightly happier life if i was toting these bento boxes to school. let's see. if my friend had a bento box, what would i have to offer up to make a fair trade. 5 gooey chocolate chip cookies AND my pizza slice?

i need to master this art one day. but for now, anna the red seems to have it all figured out.

you're the inspiration

while we're on the topic of pastels and sofia coppola, i think lily allen's new video and sofia coppola's miss dior cherie ad are running parallel in terms of theme (french luxury dusted with powdered sugar). maybe it's just the balloons and pastels talking to me. either way, i think both are fantastic.

in the buff

i have yet to hear of the young lady featured on the new cover of french playboy, but i do know she is a french actress and obviously quite the looker, but for that hint of fashion that's included in each issue they have recruited ellen von unwerth (fashion photographer/director/ex-model extraordinaire) to snap the pictures. and while i have yet to see the entire spread, i already like the cover. pastels and a sofia coppola-esque marie antoinette with a not so subtle nip slip. looks like a fashion mag cover if i've ever seen one.

happy humpday

i like how completely awkward this video is. how it looks very much like a homemade youtube video with a person just standing in front of a yellowing wall singing to her webcam. and then you hear the song and you kind of want to bob your head from side to side. and eat ice cream too. and sing to your webcam.

little bitty

most people that know me, know that i'm not really into little babies. don't get me wrong, there are the occasional small babes that i want to squeeze and pinch and kinda steal, especially if they start dancing (aka bouncing up and down) but overall, i don't want to own one forever. unless they're one of these little dudes. in which case, i might consider adopting. seriously, even i can't resist fashionable little parisian/asian babies. ah! they're so cute it hurts a little.

take a chance on me

usually when the name 'victoria beckham' is mentioned in an article, i shut down and quickly move on to the next thing, but for some reason today, i gave her a chance. after being redirected to her website for the dress collection she was making, i wasn't necessarily impressed by the clothing, but rather the little short movie in the beginning. and i think impressed isn't the right word. i think, i was shocked that i actually liked it. it's your run of the mill cute girls running around scenario, but the warbly voiced soundtrack with the well furnished house and leggy girls dangling off the doors was enough to win me over. it reminds me of erin fetherston's short films she makes for her collections, minus the dreaminess. the clothes are sub-par. an exposed zipper dress here, a sequined party dress there, but in context with the short film, the collection is average as opposed to bad. i tried to be nice.
